GroupGPT is a real-time group chat platform where an AI (Cortez, powered by Google Gemini) participates alongside humans. You can use it as a public world chat open to everyone, or create private invite-only rooms for your team or community.
The AI reads every message sent in the room and decides whether to respond naturally — like a participant, not a command-line bot. Responses stream in token-by-token so it feels like typing. You can also toggle Thought Mode for step-by-step reasoning on harder questions.
When you turn on Translator Mode in your profile settings, every message you receive is automatically translated into your preferred language before it appears in your chat. Other users see the original — only your view is translated, so the room stays native for everyone else.
Tokens are the unit that measures AI usage — every AI response consumes tokens proportional to its length. Free accounts get 50,000 tokens/month. Paid plans go from 500K (Starter) to 10M (Premium). You can also purchase pay-as-you-go tokens if you need more mid-cycle.
Yes. The web app is fully responsive and tested down to very small screens (iPhone SE, Samsung Galaxy S8+). No app download required — open the URL in any modern mobile browser and it works.
Private rooms are invite-only and never appear in World Chat. Messages are stored in a completely separate database from the global world-chat store. Only members of the room can access its history. The room owner controls membership and can remove users at any time.
Yes — every conversation includes a 📦 download button that exports the full chat as a clean, self-contained HTML file. Open it in any browser to read, archive, or share your conversation without needing the app.

AI Streaming Responses
